This video provides an overview of the different database types available in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and explains why there is no one-size-fits-all database solution. It introduces the differences between traditional and cloud databases and highlights the concept of workload-driven architecture, including an overview of OLTP and OLAP systems.
The presentation covers key database categories such as Relational Databases (Amazon RDS and Aurora), In-Memory Databases (ElastiCache), NoSQL/Key-Value stores (DynamoDB), Data Warehousing (Redshift), Big Data Processing (EMR), and specialized databases including Neptune, Timestream, and DocumentDB.
Through this session, I developed a clear understanding of when and why to use each AWS database service, along with the importance of scalability, elasticity, and proper architectural design in cloud environments.
