Thomas Earnshaw watches has designed a timepiece that can display the day, date, month and 24-hour time over it's watch face while also being powered by an automatic mechanism.
It is called the Grand Calendar.
This watch features a slightly more convex lens that you would normally find on a watch. This is to magnify the fine numbers on the subdials making them legible.
This lens presented a number of challenges for filming, as most of the ways that we tried to light it wouldn't work. When we found a lighting technique that allowed us to capture the image we wanted we stuck with it, moving the camera more so that the actual timepiece.
