In this episode, I'm happy to be talking with Sean Simmons, the operations lead for RemX Staffing's healthcare division. Last week's episode featured Ziba, Sean's colleague and I'm excited to hear his perspective on the topics at hand, being an ally for women. With his extensive experience across various roles in the U.S., Sean offers a unique perspective on how female leaders often bring a heightened sense of empathy and care to the workplace. Sean helps to highlight how men can support these strengths by embracing diverse leadership styles, fostering inclusivity, and actively advocating for women's career advancement. Sean also touches on the power of sponsorship in building a more inclusive and effective leadership culture, creating a supportive environment that benefits everyone.

On a bit of a more serious note, we stress the importance of seeking guidance, documenting incidents, and the role men play in advocating for equity. I grew up in Seattle, Washington area and graduated from University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. Shortly after school, I moved to Scottsdale, AZ and found my first professional position in staffing. I recruited Nurses and caregivers for home health and clinical services for 4 years and then was given an exciting opportunity to recruit in the IT space at a boutique talent partner for leading private equity investors in San Francisco.

I learned a lot from Silicon Valley and loved living in SF but again was provided another unpassable IT recruiting opportunity that would take me to Chicago, IL and recruit for an excellent Managed Service Firm. I didn’t last too long in Chicago due to those freeeeezing holiday months, so after my second winter I moved to LA and found a home at RemX.

I was recently promoted from a Senior Staffing Manager role in September of last year and now am the Operations Lead for a brand new Healthcare Division with RemX. I’m extremely excited to contribute to its success and watch it grow so we can make a real difference in the industry!
