There are moments in life when you pause and contemplate your place in the vastness of the universe, on this fragile planet, and within the delicate web of your social world. Moments when you become aware of how temporary your presence truly is—how one day you will exist only as a fading memory in the minds of others, memories that themselves will dissolve over time until nothing remains that points back to you.
Except, perhaps, for the art you leave behind—music, creations, fragments of imagination that may continue to resonate long after your own voice has fallen silent.

When was the last time you reflected on the grandparents of your grandparents? On the lives that shaped your lineage yet now linger only as distant echoes, if at all?

This is Synthesia, a work inspired by those reflections.
