The US treasury's report didn't fail to catch the notice of China's foreign ministry. A ministry spokesperson said that China doesn't manipulate the exchange rat, which is in line with basic common sense and the consensus of the international community. China has reiterated many times that it has no intention of engaging in competitive devaluation, or using the renminbi (RMB) to deal with external disturbances. China will continue to promote the RMB's market-oriented reform, and maintain its stability at a reasonable and balanced level. We hope that the United States can respect the laws of the market and the facts, and won't politicize the exchange rate issue.
