Purple Yams on a Teepee Trellis For Hundred Pound Tubers!

Описание: Dioscorea Alata, or the purple Chinese Market variety, is quite fun to grow in the food forest, but because of it's invasive tendancies - we choose to keep it controlled by growing the climbing crop onto a bamboo teepee (or tipi). This is only the 2nd season that this special tuber has been in the ground on Sandhill Farm, so it's still rather small, but within a few years - this yam has the potential to reach 100 pounds or more.
