Today begins with the sound of the engine starting as I leave a narrow canal and guide my cargo ship slowly back onto the open river.
From the quiet countryside canals to the wide waters of the Mekong Delta, the journey continues as I carefully navigate between busy river traffic and peaceful stretches of water. After traveling along the larger river, I once again turn into another small and narrow canal to reach the place where the cargo will be loaded.
By the time I arrive, night has already fallen. The river grows calm and quiet, and I dock the ship to rest and prepare for tomorrow’s loading work.
Life on the river is simple, sometimes challenging, but always peaceful in its own way.
