Last night, sisters Laoise (12), Ciara (17), and Saoirse Murphy (15) were announced as the winners of the 61st BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition (BTYSE). The talented students from Presentation Secondary School Tralee in Kerry claimed the top prize with their innovative project, ACT (Aid Care Treat): App-timising Emergency Response.
The prestigious BTYSE trophy was presented to the winners during an awards ceremony at the RDS in Dublin by Minister for Education Norma Foley TD and Shay Walsh, Managing Director of BT Ireland.
ACT is a cutting-edge medical assistance app designed to enhance emergency healthcare responses. It incorporates key features to deliver rapid and effective support during critical situations.
Remarkably, this marks the second time ACT has been recognized at the BTYSE, having previously earned the Runner-Up Group award in 2024.
