This is probably Son Houses most widely know tune in part due to @officialjackwhite doing a pretty killer version with The White Stripes. Way cool that he introduced this to people and there were literally thousands of kids at festivals singing it having no clue where it came from. I just kinda like that.

For me Son House is ‘the’ delta guitarist, I love Patton, but for me Son House just stands out. Robert Johnson was amazing too, but much more ‘polished’.

The early recordings of Son House before he gave up music and moved to upstate NY are incredible. In the blues revival of the 60’s he never truly got back to the technical ability level of the early recordings, but they’re still super powerful.

Playing the @new_era_guitars Recording Tone the original @roy_book model and this for the guitar peeps is #2 in production, clearly Roy has #1.

Tempted to play the resonator for all slide but this guitar in open tunings really does sound cool so here we are.
