Knitting the Gr8 Gingham Pullover & How I Modified the Collar by Adding a Steek! ✂️

Welcome to the THREAD TO MEND spinning and knitting podcast! In today’s episode, we sit back together and I chat a bit about a test knit for Jessie Maed, the Gr8 Gingham Pullover Sweater, a bottom up raglan colorwork design.

How I modified the neckline:

Prior to last repeat of Chart and with 140 sts (Size XS) remaining (or 5 decrease rounds remaining???)

Mark center front 25 sts.

From BOR, work in pattern to marked center front sts, with MC cast off center 25 sts, break CC and work in pattern to BOR.

Work in pattern to cast off sts, backwards loop cast on 9 sts alternating MC & CC, starting w/ MC.

*Work in pattern for 1 Round, working MC into MC and CC into CC of the steak.

Work in pattern until 2 sts from steek, k2tog, work steek sts, ssk, work in pattern to BOR.

Repeat from * 5 times.

Switch to ribbing needles and knit into live sts or pu&k around the neck.

*k2tog, p, k, p, repeat from * to decrease the total st count so that the collar lays flat. Work 1x1 for desired number of rounds, I chose about 3.

Use a stretchy bind off.
