This piece was presented live on 10 December 2025 at the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawai'i, as part of their cultural exchange and performance tour.

Ngā Puna o Waiōrea is the Kapa Haka group representing Western Springs College in Auckland, New Zealand. Kapa Haka is an umbrella term for Māori performing arts, involving highly disciplined and expressive action songs, haka (posture dance), poi, and chants (waiata). Chant #3 showcases the group's dedication, discipline, and commitment to preserving and sharing the rich cultural heritage of Aotearoa (New Zealand).

This performance is a vibrant demonstration of mana (spiritual power) and teamwork, connecting the performers with their ancestors and the audience. We extend our warmest thanks to the Ala Moana Center and the local community in Hawai'i for welcoming our students and allowing them to share a piece of their home.

About Ngā Puna o Waiōrea: Ngā Puna o Waiōrea is a total immersion Māori unit operating within Western Springs College. It serves as a vital pathway for students to excel academically and culturally, maintaining a strong foundation in te reo Māori (the Māori language) and tikanga Māori (Māori customs and protocols). Their Kapa Haka group regularly competes at regional and national levels, consistently being recognized for their excellence in performance and cultural knowledge.
