Recipe and Ingredients:
Mince meat-lentil filled bread(Qeema-Dal Naan)
This recipe has three parts.
1. Bread/Naan dough preparation
2. Mince meat-lentil filling
3. Baking
1: Dough
Ingredients:
Al Baker all purpose flour 400grams
Milk 1 cup
yeast 1 teaspoon
Baking soda 1 teaspoon
Sugar 1 teaspoon
yoghurt 2 tablespoon
Oil 2.5 tablespoon
salt 1.5 teaspoon
method:
Take lukewarm milk and add sugar to it. add yeast and leave for 5 minutes.
Add baking soda, salt to the flour.
Add yeast-milk mixture and oil plus yoghurt to the flour and make a soft dough.
Keep it covered at a warm place for minimum 2 hours.
2: Filling
Ingredients:
Beef mince 250 grams
Chickpea lentil soaked half cup
Chilli powder 1 teaspoon
Salt according to taste
Ginger garlic paste 1 teaspoon
Bayleaf 1
Cardamom 3
Cinnamon small piece
Cumin 1 teaspoon
Onion small chopped
Green chilli 2 chopped
Coriander leaves 1 handful chopped.
Sesame seeds optional 1 teaspoon
Milk 2 tablespoon
Method:
Boil mince meat, lentil, ginger garlic paste, cinnamon, bayleaf, cardamom, salt, chilli powder, with 1/4th cup water till the mixture is soft and dry.
Once the mixture cools, add green chilli, coriander, and onion to it. taste salt at this stage. if needed add more.
3: Baking:
take ¼ of the dough, make a ball, roll it thick.. Now take 3-4 spoons of filling and put in the center. seal the dough from all sides making a ball again. Now roll it gently. Brush milk on it and sprinkle sesame seeds.
Put this rolled naan on the pan on low flame .Once bottom is golden brown, put it in oven till the top gets nice golden color(180deg C). Immediately after taking out brush with butter and cover with cloth.
naan/bread is ready 😊
can be served with yoghurt or mint coriander tomato chutney…
to be served hot..
