In this video we take a look at my Savage Axis chambered in 25-06. This gun is ideal for the generally smaller whitetail deer that we have here in WV.
The .25 caliber projectile travels at 2800 fps and shoots flat for at least 200 yds. Also the smaller bullet weight of 100 grains does not damage the meat the same as a 168 grain from a 30-06
I do like to sight in my rifle at about one inch high at 100 yds. that way I basically eliminate the need for an elevation correction from 0-200 yds.
In the video I show my process of ensuring the rail, rings, and scope are secure before ever firing a shot. This ensures that our ammo and time at the range will not be wasted.
