Installing shingles on a 10x12 shed roof. To install the shingles we first install metal drip edge and gutter edge along the sides and base of the roof. A starter strip of shingles is placed on the lowest point of the roof. This allows the first course to have no gaps in coverage. Starting with a full length shingle roofing nails are used to fasten down the shingles. The next course has 6" removed from the shingle to make sure there is no gap in coverage on the shingle below. The ridge cap uses a metal flashing with caulk. After the metal flashing we install a ridge cap to make the build look better.
