Tiredness and difficulty breathing after COVID 19; Long COVID

Описание: Many people have symptoms even after recovery from Covid 19.
If these symptoms lasts more then 4 weeks after initial infection, it is called Post-COVID condition. Or Long COVID.
We can not describe long COVID symptoms precisely, because people has different symptoms, different manifestation and severity.
Also we do not know what is the underlying cause of Post COVID Symptoms, it can be due to autoimmune reaction, or direct cell injury by virus.
Most Common symptoms of long-COVID include:
Extreme tiredness (fatigue);
shortness of breath and difficulty breathing, any kind of discomfort during breathing.
Coughing, loss of smell and muscle aches.
Symptoms that get worse after physical or mental effort.
Less commonly other symptoms can also be presented including: Fever, Chest pain, Fast-beating or pounding heart (also known as heart palpitations). Difficulty thinking or concentrating (sometimes referred to as “brain fog”), Headache, Sleep problems and Dizziness when you stand up (lightheadedness).
Other symptoms can also be presented but they are rarer.
How common is Long COVID?
Long Covid is very common, it develops almost 20% who has covid 19 infection.
It can develop in any person, even initial symptoms was very mild. But risk of long covid is higher among person who required hospital care, due to severe covid.
Symptoms can lasts several weeks, months or years. They can go away or come back again.
Most patients’ symptoms slowly improve with time. But may sometimes result in disability.
There is no specific diagnostic methods or treatment for long covid, clinical evaluations and blood resuts also X-rays and electrocardiogram can be normal.
Research suggests that people who are vaccinated but experience a breakthrough infection are less likely to report post-COVID conditions, compared to people who are unvaccinated.
