In most of the cases, your office’s or home’s router automatically assigns a random local IP to your computers. That means, if you restart your computer, your computer might get a new local IP. That would be a problem for your port forwarding settings if have done in your router. To fix this, you can set your computer to hold static IP which won’t change even after restart. This slide explains how you can setup a static local IP for your computer. Make sure you computer is connected to your home or office network. Then open Windows start button, type ‘Settings’ and click on Network & Internet. Then follow what you see in this slide. In this example, our computer is set to 11.
