Javali and Padam constitute an important part of Carnatic music repertoire. Javali in carnatic music is unique as it is a fast moving composition based on Shringara rasa. Among Padam Javali composers, Patnam Subramanya Iyer javalis are special. He excelled in composing Telugu Javali songs. As in most Carnatic music compositions and Javali songs Telugu is always a preferred language. Javali in Bharatanatyam and Javali in Kuchipudi are also very popular. This javali Mariyada Teliyakane in Raga Surutti is a very popular Surutti javali. Without Padams and Javali Carnatic music would be incomplete.
