Softball Drills for Infielders - Infield Star Drill

Описание: Here is a fun and easy softball drill, that trains your athletes to develop their infield defence skills and base running skills at the same time. You can make a game out of this drill, making it competitive while developing their overall softball skill development.

Setup: Divide Players into two groups. Team #1 Your Infield with 1,2,SS,3. Team #2 are your base runners. Coach hitting ball from home plate.*How to Run Drill: Step 1: One baserunner from Team #2 starts on 1st base. The rest of team #2 waiting for their turn on the 1st base foul line side. Infield setup in their positions.

Step 2: Coach Hit’s ground ball to 2 baseman. As soon as the ball is hit. Runner on 1st base takes off, and tries their best to make it safely to home.

Step 3: While base runner is running around bases, 2nd baseman fields ground ball and then throws to 3rd baseman, who should be on the bag. 3rd baseman receives the ball and then throws the ball to 1st baseman also on the bag. 1st baseman, receives the ball then throws the ball to the SS , who is on 2nd base. The SS then throws the ball to home, where the catcher. If the ball makes it home before the runner makes it home, then the runner is out. If the runner makes it home before the ball makes it to home, then the runner is safe and Team #2 gets a point.

Rules of Drill/Game: Next runner on Team #2 goes until all the base runners have ran. After everyone has gone on Team #2, Team #1 now becomes the base runners and Team #2 becomes the infield defence. Team with most points at the end of 1 round wins the game of Infield Star Drill.
