BRAD PITT TAKES HIS FAMILY TO TIMELY PREMIERE
Brad Pitt brought Angelina Jolie and his parents to the black tie LA premiere of 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button', Monday (08DEC08)
Pitt wore a three piece Tom Ford tuxedo, while Jolie wore a strapless floor length Versace gown.
Pitt's co-stars Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton joined him on the red carpet - Blanchett wearing Alexander McQueen, Swinton in a Rodarte dress.
Adapted from the classic 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button' tells the story of a man who is born old and ages backwards, getting younger as time moves on.
Benjamin Button takes its hero from the end of World War One to the start of the 21st Century, as he discovers people and places, finds and loses loves, and realises what lasts beyond time
The film is directed by David Fincher, who also worked with Pitt on 'Fight Club' and 'Se7en' .
'...Benjamin Button' is currently earning its star Oscar buzz.
Although Pitt joked that since his friend George Clooney has won an Academy Award, he's stopped wanting one.
"Listen if George can have one it really doesn't mean that much does it?'' Pitt laughed, before saying what he'd really like is to see "our greatest honour" go to his director David Fincher and screenwriter Eric Roth.
Angelina Jolie held hands with Pitt's mother Jane as she spoke to reporters about the film, calling it "a study of life and love and it's beautiful.''
Pitt, who turns 45 this month, says the film inspired him to think about his own mortality.
"Well sure, it makes me think about how much time is left. Am I truly midlife? Or do I have five years left? Seriously, and how am I going to spend that time. I don't want to waste it," Pitt said.
'Benjamin Button' opens in North America on Christmas Day (25 December 2008).
