There are many ways to soundproof a window the DIY way and one of the easiest ways is by adding a sheet of acrylic panel over the glass. You can even add two sheets of acrylic to sound proof the window. Adding a second sheet of plexiglass will create an air void between the two sheets that will help stop sound waves from coming through the window and into your home.

There are a few ways to soundproof water pipes in your home but of course, the easiest way to go about it is to soundproof them while you're in the building process. This way all the water pipes are exposed and are easier to access.
