Sonic Labyrinth (Perfect Game)

Описание: Not a glaring omission in the Sonic games I haven't uploaded to the channel (at least not compared to stuff like Advance 2/3 and Rush), but an omission nevertheless.

It's a pretty short game and it has a reputation for being pretty bad. I thought it was 'OK', almost good. It doesn't drag on, at least. If the game had 7-8 worlds, and most of them were the length of the first 3 with more unique gimmicks it would probably be on the low side of 'Good'.
I would have probably done this for New Years had I not been ill for almost the past 2 weeks.

I think I had tried this game a couple of times through compilations, but don't even remember the first boss. This is the second playthrough of the day though, I beat it without getting the good ending, and was told how to access the bonus as part of that ending. I somehow managed to memorise 3-2 and 4-2, but not the cannon route for 2-1.

Most of the game I found myself only using the first tier of Spin Dash and cancelling it promptly. This is by no means a slow game if you play like this. Using higher tier spin dash is detrimental in most parts because of the level design, but areas like the bridges in the Castle Zone can use a Tier 2-3 Spin Dash to be quicker.

The bosses are simple enough, the 3rd actually might be the hardest because you need to stay behind it to hit it, and 2nd longest because the lack of time it's available to be hit in (hit it along the NE/SW path it moves along) The other bosses are simple enough. Even the final boss you just need to move out of the way in reaction to the boss moving.

So how to get the Perfect Game?
Find the Bonus stage in 2-3 which you do by holding right and 1&2 in the cannon to find a switch to open the bonus. Enter the bonus to get the final Chaos Emerald and unlock the first condition for the Perfect Game. The second condition is to finish 4-2 with at least 2:00 on the clock, and the camera will pan to the cuckoo clock as you end the level if you've done it.

As for the star rating at the end, I'm not sure what determines it, I assume maybe overall score? I got 5 stars on the first playthrough too.

I'm not sure which Sonic game I'll play next, but considering it's only Janury, there most likely will be another game this year.
