The Secret Diary
A Narrative Suite for Piano

The Secret Diary is a curated and newly edited piano suite drawn from Moods, Impressions, and Reminiscences, Op. 41, by Zdeněk Fibich.

In 1892, Fibich began a private musical diary inspired by his student and muse, Anežka Schulzová. When published, the works received generic titles or tempo markings, obscuring their personal character. Later musicological research restored the links between the published scores and the private inspirations behind the music.

This edition presents eleven selected pieces, assembled into a coherent narrative cycle and organized in three thematic chapters:
Moods of Desire
Impressions of the Muse
Shared Reminiscences

Following this introductory video, the complete suite will be presented on this channel as a weekly series, with each piece released in narrative order. The suite is intended to be experienced as a complete cycle, not simply as isolated miniatures.
