Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (Dum Dum Airport) – Kolkata ✈️
Opened in 1924 as Calcutta Aerodrome, Dum Dum Airport became India’s gateway to the East, linking flights from Europe to Australia. In 1929, the Bengal Flying Club was inaugurated here, and in 1952 the world’s first jet passenger aircraft, the De Havilland Comet, landed on this runway.
Renamed in 1995 after Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the airport saw a major upgrade with the 2.5 million sq. ft. Terminal 2 in 2013, transforming it into a modern aviation hub.
