The Sound of Music tells the inspirational story of Evelyn Glennie, a world-renowned Scottish percussionist who became profoundly deaf by age eleven. Despite being advised to attend a school for the deaf, she was determined to pursue music. Her mentor, Ron Forbes, taught her to "feel" music through her body rather than hearing it through her ears.
By sensing vibrations through her skin and feet, Evelyn mastered over 1,000 instruments and earned top honors at the Royal Academy of Music. In 1991, she received the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Soloist of the Year Award. Her life serves as a powerful testament to how unwavering determination and hard work can overcome physical disabilities.
