Has your Face ID stopped working on your iPhone? Hello friends, I am Karly. In this video, I will show quick and easy solutions to get your Face ID working again. So, let’s get started.
Here are some essential tips displayed on your video screen.
Make sure your iPhone is updated
Remove goggles, mask, etc. that block your Face
Remove broken or bubbled screen protector.
Check Face ID Settings
First, launch the settings app on your iPhone. Swipe to the Face ID & Passcode. Then, enter your iPhone’s lockscreen passcode to proceed and check if the iPhone unlock options are enabled. In my case, all unlock options are enabled.
Alternatively, you can set up an alternate appearance on your device to recognize your other view. Or you can enable Face ID with a Mask and add it. When you enable Face ID with a mask, your iPhone recognizes the unique features around your eye area to authenticate. Make sure you’re looking at your iPhone to unlock it.
If your Face ID doesn’t authenticate, Go to Face ID and Passcode from the settings app and turn off toggle next to Require Attention for Face ID and Attention aware features setting.
Clean iPhone’s Trudepth Camera
Open the camera app and check if it’s working correctly. If there is dust, gently clean the camera area with a soft fiber cloth. If you’re using a screen protector, make sure it doesn’t block the camera. Then, Doing this may fix the issue.
Turn off Content & Privacy Restrictions
Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Swipe up and tap on screen time. Then, open Content and Privacy Restrictions and turn it off.
Force Restart
Sometimes, the Face ID doesn’t work due to software glitches, so force restart helps fix this issue. So, follow the on-screen video steps.
Press and release the volume up and down buttons, then hold the side power button until you see the Apple logo. This may take a few seconds. Release your finger and wait for the restart.
If the problem persists, Reset the Face ID.
Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Swipe up and tap Face ID & Passcode. Then, swipe up and tap on Reset Face ID.
This process resets your iPhone’s Face ID, so you need to set up a new one. To do so, tap on Set Up Face ID and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check for Software Update
Make sure your device is running on the latest iOS update.
To check, launch the settings app on your iPhone. Tap General. Then, tap on software update. Check for any pending updates. If available, tap the Update Now button and enter your iPhone passcode if it appears. Then, wait for the process to complete and download the latest software update on your iPhone.
If the problem persists, Reset All Settings.
This process won’t delete your data or documents stored on your iPhone. However, it will reset all settings, including Wi-Fi passwords, home screen layout, and other personalized settings. So, don’t worry about data loss, but be prepared to reconfigure your settings.
Let’s look at the steps to reset the system settings.
Launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Go to the general section. Then, swipe up to the bottom and tap on Transfer or Reset iPhone.
After that, tap on reset and select reset all settings. If prompted, enter your passcode and wait for the reset process to complete.
