Back in the glorious open D tuning everyone! Today we will be breaking down the D blues scale in this tuning, 4 great blues licks that you can throw in your playing right away and a full blow turnaround lick to help you navigate the last four bars of your 12 bar blues.
If you have never played in open D tuning the tuning is as follows from the low E string. D-A-D-F#-A-D which means when you strum through all the strings an open D chord is going to ring out beautifully. The only problem is that means our scales are in completely different postions, so I will teach how you to find the blues scale and then we will add some tasty triplets and some other action to make that scale come alive!
