The FLOOR function in Excel rounds a number down to the nearest specified multiple. It is particularly useful when you want to round values down based on a given interval.


Syntax: =FLOOR(number, significance)

The first formula rounds 43.75 down to the nearest 0.5, resulting in 43.5.
The second formula rounds 53.67 down to the nearest whole number (1), resulting in 53.
The third formula rounds 125.45 down to the nearest 5, resulting in 125.
