Bengaluru's District Health Officer has confirmed that the clinic did not have permission to perform cosmetic surgery. They added that the clinic was functioning illegally. It is the same clinic that did late Chethana Raj's fat-free surgery, which lead to her death just hours later. This comes in a shocking revelation in the case that now puts multiple offices and authorities under the scanner. Health and Family welfare commissioner D Randeep said that the clinic was shut when the officials arrived to deliver the notice. "We got the message delivered [with a 24-hour deadline] via email. Chances of a satisfactory reply are remote," he said.
