He first appeared on the screens at the age of 13 in the ad of the game called Pitfall. Currently he is a member of Tenacious D band formed with his friend in 1994. Moreover, aside singing Black plays the guitar and keyboard and also is a master of percussion instruments.

Jack Black parents Judith and Thomas W. Black are both engineers. Unfortunately, when Jack was only 10 years old, they got divorced. Afterwards he moved to the Culver City with his father.

Black met his wife Tanya at their school days. However he says he was too shy to ask her out so had to wait until their reunion 15 years later on a friend’s birthday party. They eventually got married in 2006.

Tanya is a member of The Haden Triplets, organized with her sisters. She is a daughter of the well-known jazz bassist Charlie Haden. Tanya is a singer and incredible cello-player.
The couple has delivered two adorable children.

Their older son Samuel J. Black was born in June 2006. Jack claims that Sammy is really into apps and games. Once he even made his father to pay 3000$ for purchases he made, while playing.

The second son of Tanya and JB Thomas David Black was born two years after his brother. Black says that Thomas is full of energy and it makes his parents always be on duty to defend him. The boy is into Martial arts and a huge fan of ninjas.
