[Hi-Fi] Posting this, as what little tribute I can make, to the memory of Hal Willner, and the critical agent in making this magic moment occur, on USTV, so many years ago. The live clip of Mr. Cohen & Mr. Rollins, along with the house band, begins at the 3:28 mark.....
One of the truly best moments of live music to have been captured on film, and a lot has to do with Mr. Willner bringing all of these people together, on this stage, in order to have something with this much power, happen.
Watch the beginning, for a taste of what "Night Music" [Willner's concept], would routinely do on one broadcast: show the audience an archival clip of essential music, and follow that with contemporary music & musicians of the day.
