Rear Axle Removal & Undercarriage Detailing – Opel Manta A Suspension Upgrade [EP. 2]

Описание: I've been hard at work on the suspension restoration on my 1973 Opel Manta A! In this second episode, I completely remove all the rear suspension components, torque tube, axle, springs, shocks, etc. For good measure, I also take out the exhaust system and gas tank, to gain access and clean!

Once I get scrubbing on the underside of the car, I'm shocked at what I find. For a vehicle from 1973, the condition is pretty amazing. So I do a light restoration of these areas, re-undercoating the wheel wells and doing a little flat black detail painting on the outer edges, which had some unsightly overspray on them. That's about it!

At the end of the video I tease what's still to come. Lots of work to do on the individual components from front and rear, removing old bushings, cleaning up and painting things, installing new bushings, and putting everything back together. It feels like there's still a lot to do, but I'll get there! I'll also do an episode just on the restoration of the nuts, bolts, and other hardware, which will get cleaned up and zinc plated.
