Week 6 as a NYC nail tech student ✨ and let’s just say… it was a learning week.
This week was all about practice over perfection. I’m trying to stay focused on acrylic on the silicone hand, but I keep getting distracted by nail art and cute nail supplies (send help). My instructor brought in the most bling bling nail embellishments, which definitely didn’t help my focus while learning acrylic forming 😅.
We also had a spa day at school, and I worked on a men’s manicure, a gel manicure, and then got a little too confident and attempted builder gel extensions… which did not go well. Like… at all. But honestly, even the messy sets feel worth it because I’m learning, practicing, and enjoying the process so much.
My friends came by for regular manicures, which honestly made my whole week. It felt really special to have them there supporting me and hanging out 🤍. I even ended up doing an unexpected fourth manicure, bringing my total to 7 clients this week. Not every set was perfect, but every one of them helped me grow — and that feels really fulfilling.
