The first one the series 2 vlogs is by Anwar Khan (Counsel at British American Tobacco).
Anwar discusses his route to the Law from a non-traditional background. Anwar explains, that like many, he did not know that there were alternative ways to becoming a solicitor without a training contact. Anwar states he made over 400 training contract applications, receiving only a few interviews – this is the reality for so many!
Anwar’s Tips:
1. You need to be motivated to succeed, and focused on your end goal, otherwise you will give up.
2. Networking is important! That doesn’t mean just attending law firm events, that means networking with your peers. Anwar explains how this helped him get his first legal role.
