Putin noted that India and Russia marked 15 years of their Specialized Strategic Privileged Partnership and emphasized the importance of boosting trade and economic relations. Current bilateral trade stands at $63 billion, but Putin admitted the figure does not match the full potential of the relationship, especially given India’s size and market. He underlined the need to resolve key issues such as logistics, payments, and trade imbalance, suggesting solutions via BRICS mechanisms, rupees, third-country currencies, and electronic payments.

The Russian President also highlighted deep ties in defense cooperation, cultural exchanges, and education, noting Russia’s unique channel dedicated solely to Indian cinema. Looking ahead, Putin expressed excitement about his upcoming December visit to India, calling Modi his “dear friend” and reaffirming Moscow’s long-standing trust in New Delhi.
