Описание: Welcome back to the channel! This is Episode 6 of our Epic Gibb River Road Adventure, and this week we're pushing our 4WD (and our nerves!) to the absolute limit.

We set up a cracking base camp at the Hann River Free Camp, a beautiful, sandy spot right on the riverbank that cost us absolutely $0 (you can't beat free camping on the Gibb!). It was the perfect spot to relax and take a well-deserved dip.

From our free camp, we head deep into Mt Elizabeth Station to tackle the 12km, extreme 4WD track to Wunnumurra Gorge. Get ready for serious low-range driving, because this track is a challenge and a half! The reward? A jaw-dropping gorge with a magnificent waterfall and deep swimming holes.


💰 Relevant Costs & Access Info

Hann River Free Camp: $0 (Free Camp).

Mt Elizabeth Station: Access to the station for visitors typically requires an access/day-trip fee, which may vary (check their website for current pricing, but budget around $10-$25 per person/vehicle for station access).

Wunnumurra Gorge Track: This is an extreme 4WD track. Allow a full day for the return trip, including the 20-30 minute walk into the gorge.

📜 A Little Local History

The Gibb River Road and the surrounding stations like Mt Elizabeth lie on the traditional lands of the Ngarinyin, Worrorra, and Wunumbal language groups. Their rich Indigenous culture, spanning thousands of years, is visible in the ancient Gwion (Bradshaw) and Wandjina rock art found throughout the Kimberley region.

The Hann River itself was named after explorer Frank Hann, who traveled through the area in 1898. The river is a significant tributary of the Fitzroy River and crosses the Gibb River Road south of Mt Elizabeth Station.
