Longyearbyen, Svalbard & Norway Ports: Our Final Days on Our Artic Circle Cruise to Iceland & Norway

Описание: Welcome or welcome back! In today's we are exploring Longyearbyen, Svalbard before heading of to Norway. Our itinerary included ports of calls in Norway at Honningsvåg, Alta, and Tromso. Unfortunately, our tour at Alta fell through related to poor weather and poor booking so we ultimately walk around as much as we could before the downpour set in. We also mostly wandered around Honningsvåg as well but the view and weather were absolutely amazing, and the coffee selections were quite delicious. My favorite port of this last bit of the trip was without a doubt Longyearbyen. It felt so remote being that it is the most northern town in the world with a population of around three thousand. There are also so many remnants of the past such as all of the old coal mining relics scattered about and the polar bear boundary of course that it felt like an adventure even within the town limits. If we would have book this trip sooner, we most definitely would have booked a hike, trip to Pyramiden or the seed vault, or even just wildlife cruise or expedition cruise. All in all, this was without a doubt a once in a lifetime trip and I am so thankful for this experience. I am sure it will be a cherished memory for many years to come.
