How I Approach Monophonic Synths: 3 Creative Concepts

Описание: Today I'm talking about some creative concepts for playing monophonic synthesizers. These are ideas I use to perform on instruments like the Moog Grandmother. This is just one example. There are so many ways to approach playing this instrument but if you’re new to mono synths or coming from the world of polyphonic keyboards, these approaches might help you play more musically, improvise with confidence, and make a single-note synth feel expressive and alive.

Concept 1: Use a key center, a scale, or limit what notes you are using to help everything sound cohesive.
Concept 2: Play with a strong rhythmic feel between both hands like you're drumming on a tabletop.
Concept 3: Tweak synth stuff in between your lines or during space. Use the arpeggiator to automate some of your playing to get a little more hands on.
