Surface preparation of pipe to prepare for the application of Stove Bright® High Temp Paint:
-Wear proper PPE
-Equipment and products for rust removal
-use a wire brush and sandpaper to remove rust
Stove Bright® paint prep application
-use this product to do a final wipe down to prepare for paint application

Stove Painting:
-drape the stove itself with protection to just target the pipe and protect the surrounding area
-spray from a distance of 10-12 inches from the pipe surface. You will be applying several light coats.
-spray with a first mist coat (a first light coat) to lay down some paint.
-apply a second coat about 10 minutes later to fill and cover.
-apply a third light coat about 15 minutes later to fill and continue to cover.
-be sure to wear safety glasses and do only in a well-ventilated area.

Initial burn:
-There will be off-gassing during the initial burn as the paint cures. This is normal and will have an odor. Be sure to ventilate the room and distance people and pets as you complete this initial burn.

-start a kindling fire for 5-10 minutes to heat the stove to ambient temperature.
-add fuel slowly to avoid shocking the paint.
-build the fire to normal size for about 45 minutes to an hour. Following this ramp up period, stoke the stove to a properly hot fire.
