When is the best time to see Honu (Sea Turtles?) in Hawaii?

The best times to see Sea Turtles:
-Paddle when the river is it is less busy, early mornings around 9 am is a great time to spot them on the river.
-Be calm and quiet, be patient and wait for the turtles to come up for a breath.
-At low tide, the turtles are closer to the surface and easier to see.
-When the waves are big on the North Shore, many sea turtles take refuge in the calm river water and you can see up to 20-30 of them while paddling, making the Anahulu River one of the best places in Hawaii to see Sea Turtles.
-Look for Honu basking in the sun on the muddy river banks (they might look like big rocks).
-Always keep a distance, don't approach them. They are protected by law and harassing Sea Turtles is a crime in Hawaii.
