OpenVAS - The SCAP Database is Required (fixing OpenVAS sync Issues)

Frankly I have found that while this tool could be good, it's buggier than Windows ME was...

Here's a list of commands that were in this video, and some that were not in this video:

sudo gvm-stop
sudo greenbone-feed-sync
sudo greenbone-nvt-sync
sudo greenbone-scapdata-sync
sudo greenbone-certdata-sync
sudo runuser --user _gvm greenbone-nvt-sync
sudo reboot now

Sync now works and says "current" but the data doesn't populate
NOTE: This sync can take 5+ hours to complete

sudo gvm-start
tail -f /var/log/gvm/gvmd.log
Error: osp_scanner_feed_version: No feed version available yet. OSPd OpenVAS is still starting
Meaning: Feed has not yet finished processing database information
(wait longer)

If it's been over 12 hours.. .

sudo gvm-stop
sudo gvmd --rebuild-gvmd-data=all
sudo Greenbone-Feed-Sync
sudo greenbone-scapdata-sync --refresh
sudo greenbone-scapdata-sync --refresh-private
sudo reboot now

While this could be an excellent tool, it is really buggy, and with it's incredibly slow processing, if you can afford it, Tenable Nessus is worth it.. and far less buggy..
