IMPORTANT NOTE:
ZERO does not recommend using an impact gun on the bolt on the motor shaft. This could damage the motor encoder. Secure the shaft from spinning in another manner and use a traditional wrench.
My adventure of installing a chain kit on my 2018 Zero FX. Instructions do not come with the chain kit. If you do find the instructions "somewhere", know that some of the instructions may not be accurate or may be more than you need to do. This video can act as a guide.
If you can't break a chain and put on a clip-style master link, you may want to have a dealer do this for you. You will need a chain break tool, at least.
Other tools include 13mm wrench, 10mm wrench, Torx 45 and Torx 50 bits, 10mm hex bit, 3mm hex, 4mm hex, and possibly 6mm hex. Also a 27mm wrench or socket to take off the rear axle.
This should be identical for a 2018 FXS (supermoto) model. Previous years FX or FXS should be substantially similar - especially 2017 - but slight changes in hardware are possible. Pre-2017 your motor shaft will be keyed, not splined, and you may (will) need a puller as well. The process for a DS or DSR of varying years should also be substantially similar.
