Lighthouse at Ross Island (now officially named Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island) in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands:

📍 Location & Access

The lighthouse is atop an off‑shoot rock about 50 metres from the shoreline, at the northern end of Ross Island.

It is a 10‑metre high circular concrete tower, built in 1977.

During low tide, you can approach it on foot.

⚙️ Features & Significance

It was the first lighthouse in India to use photovoltaic (solar) panels to charge batteries that power the light.

It guides vessels near Port Blair, helping with navigation around Ross Island.

The lighthouse is a popular spot for photography, especially because of its location and view.

There is a wooden bridge/ pathway built to help tourists reach it more comfortably.

The “Lone Sailor Statue” is nearby, adding to the attraction.
