Two family favorites you’ll absolutely love 🤍
This video brings together a crispy homemade pastry and a classic easy biscuit cake — perfect comfort desserts for any day.
The crispy pastry is inspired by Maznik, a traditional Balkan layered pastry, known for its flaky texture and satisfying crunch. Paired with a creamy, no-bake biscuit cake, this video is all about simple ingredients, nostalgic flavors, and desserts made to be shared with family.
If you love crispy pastry sounds, cozy homemade desserts, and traditional-style recipes, this one is for you 🥖🍰
Perfect for afternoon tea, gatherings, or when you just want something comforting and sweet.

🥧 Traditional Thin Rolled Pie (Maznik)
Ingredients
• 1 kg plain flour
• 650 ml lukewarm water
• 1 tablespoon salt
• Filling of choice (cheese, meat, spinach, etc.)
• Oil, as needed (about 150 ml)
Instructions
1. Make the dough
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and lukewarm water. Knead until you get a soft, smooth dough.
2. Divide and rest
Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, then roll each one into a round disc about 25 cm in diameter.
Brush each disc lightly with oil, cover, and let rest for 20 minutes so the dough relaxes.
3. Stretch the dough
Place one dough disc onto a clean tablecloth or sheet. Gently stretch it from all sides with your hands until it becomes very thin and almost transparent. Take care not to tear it.
4. Add filling
Spread the filling evenly over the stretched dough. Drizzle 2–3 tablespoons of oil over the top.
5. Roll the pie
Using the sheet or cloth, carefully lift and roll the dough into a loose roll. Make sure some air stays inside so the pastry remains light and flaky, not tightly packed.
6. Shape and pan
Shape the roll into a round or oval spiral and place it into a lightly oiled baking pan. Repeat with the remaining dough.
7. Bake
Preheat the oven to 180°C
Bake until golden brown and crisp.
8. Serve
Let cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
✨No-Bake Biscuit Cake (Vanilla & Walnut)✨
Ingredients
• 600 g cold milk
• 100 g instant vanilla pudding powder
• 1 cup thickened cream
• 2 packets plain milk biscuits (250 g each, total 500 g)
• 1 cup extra milk (for dipping biscuits)
• 1 cup finely grated walnuts
Instructions
1. Prepare the pudding base
Pour the 600 g cold milk into a large glass bowl. Sprinkle the instant vanilla pudding powder evenly over the milk. Whisk until the mixture becomes smooth and thick.
2. Chill the pudding
Place the pudding mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to help it set.
3. Add the cream
Remove the pudding from the fridge. Add the thickened cream and whisk again until the mixture is creamy, thick, and well combined.
4. Prepare the biscuits
Pour the extra 1 cup of milk into a shallow bowl. Quickly dip each biscuit into the milk, just enough to soften it slightly.
5. Assemble the cake
• Arrange two rows of dipped biscuits lengthwise on a flat serving plate.
• Spread a layer of the pudding mixture evenly over the biscuits.
• Repeat the layering process, alternating biscuits and pudding, until you have about four biscuit layers, finishing with pudding on top.
6. Finish with walnuts
Sprinkle the grated walnuts generously over the top and around the sides of the cake.
7. Chill and set
Refrigerate for a few hours, or preferably overnight, until fully set.
