LAT PULLOVER / CABLE PULLOVER / STANDING LAT PULLOVER
Set the cable to the top notch or a few notches higher than shoulder level. Use a straight bar, ez bar, or rope attachment. For a straight bar and ez bar grab it palms down, for a rope grab it palms facing each other. Step back and hinge at your hips, your torso should be at a 45-90 degree angle and your arms should be stretched overhead.
Drive your hands down to your pockets or hips while keeping the slightest bend in the elbow. It is ok to rise your chest slightly as you pull the cable toward your hips but as you release and the bar rises, press your hips back and lower your chest slightly - as this actually creates a little more of a stretch.
As always let the bar raise up slowly and control the weight. We want a slow controlled eccentric as you feel your lat muscles engage. Yes, this is called a lat pullover but you will also likely feel it in your triceps and maybe even chest, that is totally fine and DOESN'T mean you're doing it wrong!
This move is different than a tricep pull down - bending and straightening the elbows. If you want to work the targeted muscles (aka the lats), the angle of your elbows should stay the same throughout the movement.
