featuring Dr. John Krakauer, Dr. Neil Martin, Dr. Uzma Samadani, Dr. Beau Lotto, and David Eagleman
Dr. John Krakauer is a Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience, and Director of the Center for the Study of Motor Learning and Brain Repair at Johns Hopkins.
Dr. Krakauer's clinical interest is stroke, including ischemic cerebrovascular disease, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhage, arteriovenous malformation, cerebral vasculitis, cerebral aneurysm, and venous and sinus thrombosis.
Dr. Neil Martin has been a leader in neuroscience for decades including a 30-year experience at UCLA, and serving as Department of Neurosurgery Chair from 2008-2016. He then served as Chair of Geisinger Neuroscience Institute in Pennsylvania from 2016 to 2020. At Geisinger, Dr. Martin had many accomplishments benefiting the 12-hospital system, including developing two new comprehensive stroke centers and deploying a regional telestroke and teleneurology network.
Dr. Uama Samadani's goal is to provide the best care humanly possible for her patients. She also believes that research can improve patient outcomes and offer greater options to people who would otherwise have relatively few. "I am honored by the trust that my patients place in me and will strive to always be deserving of that trust," she said. Although Dr. Samadani has broad surgical capabilities as a general neurosurgeon, she has a primary interest in cranial neurosurgery and a research interest in traumatic brain injury and hemorrhage. She has expertise in image-guided minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Dr. Beau Lotto's research explores how the brain adapts to uncertainty at the cellular, computational and perceptual levels with the aim of understanding the fundamental principles of biologically-inspired innovation.

GrassRoots programming is made possible by the producers' creativity itself, direct contributions from viewers, members of the Roaring Fork Valley community, and through grants from the Pitkin County Healthy Community Fund, The Town of Snowmass Village, the City of Aspen Community Non-Profit Grant Program, and The Aspen Thrift Shop.
Founded by citizens of Aspen, Colorado in 1972, GrassRoots TV is the first and oldest community operated and programmed open-source media center and television station in the United States. Virtually all of the programming is created by local residents, occasionally with world renown guests.
In partnership with the American Archive of Public Media and the Library of Congress, GrassRoots is currently cataloguing, restoring and digitally archiving 700 of the most at-risk original video programs out of its 45,000 title Community Video Archive.
