Victoria Premier Jacinta Allan has been on the defensive today after police singled out protesters "from the left" for becoming violent in opposing yesterday's "March for Australia" rally in Melbourne.
Premier Allan says it was a "small number" who did the wrong thing.
Victoria Police commander Wayne Cheeseman yesterday praised the behaviour of anti-mass migration protesters but said those from the left had injured two officers by throwing rocks and other projectiles.
