99 Red Balloons by Goldfinger - Cover

Описание: The punk band Goldfinger is probably best known for their ska song "Superman," which has been featured in films and especially in the game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

I was never a big fan of the ska influence, and it wasn't used as frequently on their third album. Their 2000 release, "Stomping Ground," also includes a cover of a song by the German new wave band Nena.

"99 Red Balloons" is a modern and equally catchy version of the 1983 original hit. The Goldfinger version has aged much better.

Since I was never a fan of the band, this cover also passed me by. I only rediscovered them around 2015 when I bought Rocksmith and this song was included as DLC.

It's crazy how you can lose track of influential artists only to find out 15 years later that they're still around.

Goldfinger has undergone some personnel changes, but they're still making music. Their latest album, "Never Look Back," was released in 2022, and the band is still touring. Good for them.
