My loves in this video, we talk about how to detox from refined sugar so you can balance your hormones, lower inflammation, get clear skin, and stop being a prisoner of sugar.
In the first part of the video, I am explaining about blood sugar, our hormones, the menstrual cycle, etc. In the second part of the video, we are cooking some of my favourite refined sugar-free recipes.
There is nothing sweet about inflammation, and for me, refined sugar-free is a form of hygiene for my inner body. I know that half of our problems will be fixed if we limit or cut refined sugar and heal our cravings (body, mood, health-wise)
“No refined sugar” includes natural sweetnesses like:
Coconut sugar
Honey and Maple Syrup
Dates and Date Syrup
Dark chocolate (check labels)
Fruits
*always check the labels for sneaky sugars
The recipes I showed you are going to help you with your blood sugar balance and therefore, your body, skin, and control of your decisions.
I like to add very filling ingredients like almond butter so when you eat 1-2 pieces, it actually makes you full. No empty calories! BANANA BREAD:
210g Type 405 Flour
70g Almond Flour
1.5 tsp Baking Powder
0.5 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
Pinch of cinnamon
3 Mashed Ripe Bananas
3 Large Eggs
50g Coconut Sugar
50g Honey
10g Melted Coconut Oil
50g Greek Yogurt/Skyr
Bake for 40-50min on 180 degrees celsius
SQUASH BROWNIES:
*You can do them with sweet potato too
400g roasted or boiled butternut squash (mashed)
120g Medjool dates (pitted, soaked if dry)
3 eggs
30g honey
1tsp almond butter
40g cacao powder (unsweetened)
40g almond flour (or oat flour)
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg (optional)
1tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Blend dates + squash, add eggs, honey, cacao, flour, spices, baking powder, salt. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for ~30 min
