Erik Satie wrote the gnossiennes in the last decade of the 19th century. He invented the word itself as a term to describe these kinds of compositions, as he had done earlier with the gymnopedes.
This version is an interpretation by Forgotten Fish Memory Orchestra and can be found on their recent CD album 'If I Had a Hifi'.
The video is compiled from several different performance moments.
