Confession time: the only reason I even touched Wild Hearts is because Monster Hunter Wilds won’t be fixed until December. That’s right—I played the “other” monster-hunting game because I’m impatient. Problem is, this game was never fixed. It’s like I willingly stepped into an unfinished project just to punish myself. And the worst part? It’s actually… pretty good. Yeah. I hate myself too.

But let’s not lie—Wild Hearts is unoptimized garbage. It chews your PC up and spits it out, which is wild (ha) considering I could be playing Toukiden, a game that actually runs. Still, there’s fun here, if you like slamming oversized beasts with oversized weapons while your framerate commits sudoku.

This is part of my personal gaming journal backlog series: I buy way too many games, then suffer through them while cutting together the best (read: least embarrassing) moments with sarcastic commentary.
